Stefanie Williams

Stefanie Williams was appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary for Professional and Cultural Exchanges in the Bureau of Educational Cultural Affairs in August 2025. In this role, she oversees the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’ efforts to strengthen U.S. diplomacy through people-to-people exchanges. By leading programs that foster mutual understanding, advance American values, and build lasting international partnerships, she works to expand U.S. influence and support strategic foreign policy priorities.

Previously, Ms. Williams served at the U.S. Agency for International Development during the first Trump Administration, where she aligned development initiatives with administration priorities to drive efficiency, accountability, and measurable results that advanced U.S. security and economic growth.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Williams was the National Director of Development at the National Federation of Independent Business, advocating for the small businesses that power America’s economy. She also worked at the Club for Growth and spent more than a decade on political campaigns, bringing deep experience in policy, advocacy, and grassroots strategy.

Ms. Williams is a native of Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire.
