Pradnya Joshi

National Weekend Editor, Washington Post

Pradnya (P.J.) Joshi is the national weekend editor at The Washington Post, helping lead coverage of politics, health and other national issues.

Joshi was previously international business editor at Politico, where she directed coverage of international trade, agriculture, food regulation and investments in rural America. Before joining Politico in 2017, she worked for The New York Times for 11 years as assistant business editor for digital news, news editor for DealBook, deputy night editor and staff editor. Before that, she was a reporter for 12 years, starting at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, where she covered dairy issues, manufacturing and the commercialization of the internet. She later worked for nine years at Newsday, where she reported on telecommunications, Wall Street, New York state politics and economic development.

Joshi has a bachelor’s degree in international studies and journalism from Northwestern University as well as a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern.
