Mark Tatum
Mark Tatum has served as NBA Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer since February 2014, overseeing global business and league operations. He joined the NBA in 1999 and has played a key role in expanding the league’s international presence and partnerships. Under his leadership, the NBA launched initiatives such as the Basketball Africa League, NBA Academy programs, and historic games in Africa, India, and the UAE. Tatum also drove major business innovations, including jersey sponsorships, the Gatorade entitlement for the G League, and a global apparel deal with Nike. Before his current role, he led global marketing partnerships and developed strategies for USA Basketball, while previously holding senior positions in business development and marketing. His career began with roles at Major League Baseball, Clorox, Pepsi-Cola, and Procter & Gamble. Tatum holds degrees from Cornell University and Harvard Business School and serves on numerous boards, earning recognition as one of the most influential figures in sports business.
