Colonel Kristin Hussey
Col. Kristin Hussey is the Global Partnerships Division Chief at Headquarters Space Force, Pentagon, Arlington, VA. She is responsible for overseeing the Chief Strategy and Resourcing Officer’s international strategy for the United States Space Force, which includes bilateral and multilateral cooperation, global force posture, integration, and service efforts with partners and allies. Col. Hussey serves as the Space Force’s touchpoint for partnership engagements. Col. Hussey commissioned into Air Force from the US Air Force Academy in 2004 and has a varied career in space operations. Beginning as an operator, she transitioned to lead the engineering flight for Military Satellite Communications in the 3d Space Operations Squadron before moving into an instructor role in the 50th Operations Support Squadron at Schriever AFB, CO. Col. Hussey also served at Pituffik AB, Greenland performing the Missile Warning & Missile Defense missions, followed by a tour with the 76th Space Control Squadron, Peterson AFB CO, undertaking Space Electronic Warfare. Col. Hussey’s extensive international experience began following this assignment. She served as an Afghanistan-Pakistan (AFPAK) Hand in Kandahar and Kabul, Afghanistan, providing guidance and assistance in airfield development and strategic messaging in close cooperation with the Afghan government. Upon return from her final deployment, she led the 319th Combat Training Squadron as their Director of Operations where she ushered in a new era of Space training and opened courses to allies and partners. Col. Hussey was then honored to be selected to serve three years as UK Space Command’s first US Exchange Officer, assisting in establishing the new command in High Wycombe, England. During this assignment she was proudly presented with the first Royal Air Force (RAF) Space Operator badge in Jul 2021 and the RAF Deputy Commander Operations (DCom Ops) Commendation the same year. Col. Hussey then returned to the US, leading Space Delta 5’s Strategy and Plans Division in the development of Mission Type Orders for the Combined Space Operations Center, furthering integration of allies and partners in planning efforts, and transitioning the Division to the S5 Directorate prior to becoming the Delta’s Chief of Staff.
